ABOUT ME

One of my first beading projects, with my mom :)

Hello!
My name is Stina and this is my place to share bits about my life, making jewelry, adopting animals and other things I find exciting, vital, or I just need to get off my chest. I've been making jewelry since I was old enough to string beads and I am now psyched to share my work with others across the world. I live in lovely Port Moody, BC, Canada. I have my BA in English, which means I have overstuffed bookshelves, love to read and write and am pretty good at both, and not much else. By that I mean my BA doesn't mean much else - I like to think I'm good at a few other things. In previous jobs I have been a kick-ass barista and scone baker, an efficient dog bather and grooming assistant, and an administrative assistant superstar. I've also been a Big Sister, Book Buddy (reading with kids is pretty great) and a volunteer dog-walker. I speak up for rescue animals and sometimes volunteer with a local rescue, as well as help fundraise for them. One of my dogs is a rescue from a high-kill shelter in California and she is amazing; we adopted our lovely kitty when she was 9 years old. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2011 and it's something I struggle with but I try not to let it affect my life too much.

I love snail mail, dinosaurs and growing things. I love animals and currently have two dogs and a cat. I hope to one day live on a little farm and have added a big dog to the pack (probably a pitty, bulldog or rotty), have a few pretty chickens, a smushy-faced cat (scottish fold?) and Ben, my boyfriend, will have a duck or two. And maybe I will have a little goat. And a pug. I don't like to limit myself, haha. We also plan on fostering rescue dogs while they wait to find their forever families. I'd also love to be able to grow some of our own food. Anything freshly picked is 100 times better than anything from the grocery store.

That's a bit about me and these are some of the things you can expect to read about on my blog. For more info about the jewelry I make, check out the "About honeywild" page!
